So, as you know, last weekend was very busy for me and I couldn’t work on the comic. Things were looking good for this weekend, though, until I got sick. I think it was stomach flu or food poisoning. Anyway, it was bad, and I’m still getting over it.

I hate delaying the comic like this, but I really don’t want to put out low quality work. Right now I’ve mostly recovered, but my energy levels aren’t quite there yet. I should be good in another week, so come hell or high water, regular updates will resume on March 12th. Juggling this comic with a full time job and all the usual life obligations is tough, but I’m not going anywhere till it’s done. Thank you, as always, for your continued understanding and patience.

I’ll be honest, guys; it’s been several months since my last actual break and I’m starting to burn out. It’s getting daunting to get these pages inked and colored every week, and when I sit down to actually get started my mind just blanks out. Normally things flow pretty freely, but lately things just aren’t coming as naturally as they have been. On top of that, the story is kind of running away with me and I don’t think I’ve been taking the right amount of time to step back and write out the next plot beats ahead of time to avoid the pacing getting bogged down.

Basically, I think if I keep trying to push this pace, it’s just going to get worse. I don’t want that, and obviously neither do you.

So, I’m going to take an as-of-yet unprecedented three week break and, ideally, come back to things with a fresh perspective and more solid preliminary work. That means updates will resume on October 30th, 2018.

It’s been almost eight years of fairly consistent updates at this point, and while I hate to deprive you of that for most of October, I know that I don’t want to stop, and sometimes continuing involves taking breaks in which to step back and get your bearings. So, as always, thank you all for your continued patience and understanding, and I’ll see you on Tuesday, October 30th with a well-rested, fresh perspective and a better sense of plot direction!
